Many people will now be surprised just how cheap Inverters now are. Looking on the vast array on Amazon I am amazed to see small, and even not so small Inverters going for anything from 40 Dollars upwards. I know for sure that wasn't true only a few years ago.
This reduction in price and the fact that there is now just so much more to choose from means that the buyer has a much better choice and can be a lot more choosy when it comes to what they buy. It is now so easy to look through the quite large array and choose one that suits your budget. Although many say that cheap Inverters will not be of such a good quality I am not sure this is the case. It really does depend on why you want the Inverter and what its use will be.
Cheap Inverters are ideal for the smaller jobs that you require them for, and even Home Inverters are now so much lower in price that in today's market they are seen as cheap. I guess that if you are reading this you will probably have some idea of the Inverter you want in mind. There are cheap Pure Sine Power Inverters and 12 Volt Inverters have come down dramatically.
Whether it is because so many people are looking to switch to a partial off-grid life or not I don't know. I assume this is the case. Supply and demand is probably the key role. As more and more people buy Inverters then the price is bound to come down. The fact that more companies have decided to join in the production of cheap Inverters is bound to make them cheaper as competition grows.
Browsing some of the popular brands like Xantrax, I am amazed at the prices. You can now get a fairly high end Pure Sine Power Inverter for a very reasonable price. Even a much more elite 48 v Inverter is now of a much more reasonable price.
In the future I can only see prices falling as more and more people decide that they will install Solar Panels or Wind Generators. This is definitely the way I hope the future will go. If all the components fall in price it will be a lot easier for more people to be a little more green in the way they run appliances and lighting etc.
There is such a large range of uses for Inverters now, and the prices so low, that it can easily make sense to run even the shed on a small Solar Panel and a low Watt Inverter. You certainly don't need anything with a high output to run a few energy efficient lights and a few good quality tools.
Hopefully cheap Inverters are here to stay and lets hope that the prices fall even more.
